Hair Extensions has become an important technical service to offer in the hairdressing industry.
As a Tricho consultant you will combine your experience as a stylist with an understanding of the biology and function of hair. Hair Loss amongst young women has risen and you will learn how to identify different types of hair loss and recommend either natural remedies or the use of prosthetics to solve or disguise the problems To become a successful hair Tricho Consultant takes more than a day or 2. This Training course provides you with in depth knowledge to prevent you causing damage to clients hair. The training course is designed for those who want to offer a specialised service/ The service, when carried out correctly offers no risk to the client. Damage associated with extensions is commonly down to a poorly executed hair extension service of the inability of the client to maintain her extensions. As a professional it is less stressful to provide a service where the client isn’t able to unintentionally cause damage to her own hair.
THE HAIR EXTENSION COURSE ITINERARY
The Hair Extension Course includes –
Custom Made Hair Pieces
Hair and scalp conditions Consultation format
Client requirement Extension application
Cutting and styling theory Extension removal
Hair Quality Control Stock and storage
Working with coloured, chemically processed and textured hair
On successful completion of the course you will be competent in the application of hair extensions and hairpieces and hold an intermediate certification. You will then be invited to attend two follow up days at which you can attain an advanced or master certification. The purpose of the follow up days is to encourage you to build up speed and develop confidence. The certification level will also influence the fees you set for application.
Intermediate Certification – 2 Consecutive Days
Learn to apply a full head of extensions and remove using a prosthetic head. Learn about placement, controlling tension and …By the end of this assessment you will be expected to create an attachment within 120 seconds. You will also learn how to make Custom Made Hairpieces and the highest quality Clip In Hair Extensions.
The Final assessment includes carrying out a volumising service on a ‘pusedo’ client provided by your trainer. You will be marked on your consultation technique. Knowledge of the biology of hair, scalp and associated health conditions. Appropriate knowledge of Contra Indicators. Knowledge of hair loss and types.
Master Certification – 2 Days
Application on a live model. You will be expected to complete a full head in a. an attachment in 60 seconds
The second Day covers Hair integration pieces. A integration must be ordered and executed
Natural Hair Extensions -

“Extensions should be able to deal with a variety of substances without breaking down, including natural oils and water. Ideally attachments should not deteriorate when in regular contact with styling products which includes shampoos, conditioners and serums and should be able to withstand the same heat as natural hair.
Extensions should be able to be washed as often as the client desires with no complications and products should be chosen to compliment the individuals hair type rather than maintain the extensions. The cotton used to create the attachment has an ultra thin elasticised rubber strip running though the centre, this does not come into contact with the natural hair as the cotton provides a flexible barrier, thus preventing deterioration of the hair shaft throughout wear. The cotton is available in natural hair colours ensuring a discrete attachment”
